April 14th is Black Day 🖤 in South Korea 🇰🇷. People dress in black & eat jajang noodles 🍜 in black bean sauce 🫘, black coffee ☕ & dark chocolate 🍫.
It was originally a response to white day 🤍
(March 14th) when those who received
valentines 🩷 on February 14th reciprocate. In Asian cultures there is often pressure to continue one's family line, so Black Day was a pity party for those who failed to find a partner. Yet in recent years
some people are rebelling against societal
expectations 🏴☠️ & have made the day into a
celebration of freedom from relationships ⛔.
