A cheap way of making assault weapons less affective? Outlaw hi/capacity 30-15 rnd magazines and only allow a 5 shot clips.
Cuts the fire power down by 2/3 . Needing to reload constantly and carry a dozen magazines makes these weapons far less attractive for mass murderers.

Actually, I am not surprised with how responsible the overwhelming majority of gun owners are. The push to control magazine sizes for AR-15s and prevent unstable people from having access to guns and rifles is not and should not be intended for them. It has become a culture war cause for the NRA and extreme right-wingers.

Well, back in 1934, Congress enacted the National firearms act virtual banning any/all tommy guns, BAR automatic rifles, and sawed off shotguns (up to 18 inches) because of gangsters.
