Famine is more of a characteristic of capitalism than socialism due to overexploitation of the imperial periphery. Every single famine that occurred in socialist countries was the last famine, which otherwise was plagued with famines for centuries, if not more.

Incorrect, they have not "admitted the Soviet caloric intake is sound", rather that the food offered in that diet was better than an American's. However, we all know that an American's diet is completely shitty and terrible. Pretty much any diet - even a Soviet one - is better than the American one.
