I've spent years within and outside the fandom, I can easily see that, and they're not doing much to help their image.

I'm not saying that hating furries isn't a trendy thing, but for the same reason that warnings on products and signs appear, it doesn't come from out of nowhere, and in this case multiple reasons that are more than uncommon.

An interesting facet to look into is how a lot of the modern fandom's values are based on wanting to be a safe haven for society's outcasts. The fandom has a lot of problems that aren't talked about, particularly because they see themselves as a group of victims comprised of victims, and you get people in there that don't get to socially develop and use it as an outlet or an escape.
