Why is it there? It's just obnoxious waiting for people like me who got 10k in a short amount of time

Some people like you who get 10,000 points in a short amount of time, turn out to be alts made to abuse the points system- or for other more sinister purposes.
This limit doesn't necessarily stop troll alts from interacting in the stream, but it definitely tests their commitment.

2. Can't there be a way where if a second account from the same address was created, they could make more restrictions? Like normal accounts only need 10k but alts from the same IP will have both that and the 30 days experience.

Plus, Imgflip is a pretty small place. I'm sure the sitemids could keep track of the 50 or so problematic IP's, and get rid of their account before they can reach 10k. That way, the 30 days minimal experience would be unnecessary
