I agree that "Climate Change" is real and a threat to every facet of our lives. But, I have never been totally "lock-step" with any political movement. Given the choice of accepting the assessment of real scientists or simply ignoring the problem, I choose the former. I agree with the "Climate Change Nazis," that we must end coal use completely and cut our use of petroleum products substantially. I part ways with them on timelines and methods.
Had we cut coal completely when Natural Gas became a viable option, Global Warming would be slowed. Solar is a great option. But, until we end China's monopoly on Rare Earth products, it is not a viable widespread option. The US has 250-million cars running on internal combustion engines. We replace our cars at a rate of 16,000 a year. Even if electric cars were easily affordable and everyone bought in, conversion would take at least two to three decades. What happens if large numbers of people don't make the switch here and worldwide? I like the CCNs aspirations. I just prefer a bit more realism in solutions to problems.
