For gen 1 and fries red and things like that I choose Squirtle, becuase it's good against the first gym, unlike Charmander, even though Charmander is good against the bugs, it is t good against al or of the first gyms, when you have al it less Pokemon diversity. And while Bulbasaur is technically the best Pokemon for those games, I hate it in a personal manner now.

Cinderace is the best galar starter so Id pick him either way

YES he was my 3rd starter in general (Squirtle for pkmn go, rowlet for ultra moon, scorbunny for sw/sh, and fuecoco for s/v) chose fuecoco because damn, there are NO thoughts behind those eyes.

and for nerds: in gen one if you pick charmander, just catch a mankey on route 22. in gen 3 if you pick torchic, just catch shroomish
