Explaining foreign policy to liberals

can someone explain why this stream has essentially become the politics stream now?

Hence why Conservatives call this a proxy war. I wouldn't care if it is called a proxy war but we still should support Ukraine for social reasons

I support the Ukrainian people. But I don't support the USA's blank check for Zelensky, or getting us unto WW3 without a good reason.
Everyone always forgets that when the dust settles, there's no way this war will benefit the Ukrainian or American people. Sure a few Ukrainian & American millionaires will become billionaires and a few liberals will get to high five each other for "doing the right thing, since NO ONE could have predicted this would go nuclear!" But millions will die and there won't be any winners. Just big fuggin losers.

The winner of the invasion? There is none, the first one to run out of money will be the biggest loser
