That's good and all, and we ought to be teaching marksmanship to our kids as well (although that should be the parents' responsibility, not that of the state), but I don't give a crap about kids being taught to fight if they're being taught to fight for to destroy liberty wherever it is found and spread communism.
Plenty of parents here are already teaching their children firearm skills and safety, independently of the government. China's school system is not better simply because they take that responsibility of the parents and make it a standardized state mandate. In a free society with the Second Amendment, the government does not need to teach people how to use guns to defend their country (except the military, of course), as the people already do it themselves, teaching it to their family.
No amount of competency in proper firearm training can make up for political propaganda and brainwashing. To raise armed men while instilling in them communism and moral relativist values is to raise a generation of tyrants and murderers instead of men who will proudly defend their families and homeland.
