Q: What is P.E.N.I.S.?

A: We are first and foremost a forum for upper-level dialogue, discussion, and debate positioned at the crossroads of where freedom of speech and responsible memeing intersect with erotic content and moderation. We are in many cases the gatekeepers tasked with keeping porn off of Imgflip, taking rotations and battling tirelessly on the frontlines of this holy crusade on a daily basis.

We also dabble in meme politics and are ideologically opposed to recently-suggested bans on NSFW content, which can already be banned on an individual basis at user discretion using the NSFW box.

Q: What party does P.E.N.I.S. support?

A: We are a non-aligned movement, seeking only to promote understanding of this difficult topic. Our critics would label us a special interest or lobbying group running things from the shadows. We reject this portrayal, and hope to evidence that we are doing beneficial work for the community.

Q: Why P.E.N.I.S.?

A: If P.E.N.I.S. didn’t already exist, it would have to be invented. A world without the gatekeepers is a cold and brutal one, where the falcon cannot hear the falconer, where we all live in the shadows, where any memer in their travels could stumble across pornography and have their whole day ruined or their life scarred and destroyed (“not even once”), where Imgflip itself could topple over at any time — in a word, anarchy.

Q: No, but really, why did you choose the acronym P.E.N.I.S.?

A: Not sure I understand the question. Does it spell out something in particular?

Q: Who are P.E.N.I.S.?

A: We come from different backgrounds, different politics, different walks of life, different creativities. Some genuinely enjoy creating NSFW content, others don’t really care. We are united by one common purpose: Keeping porn off of Imgflip.

Q: What charities does P.E.N.I.S. support?

A: We support the anti-porn efforts of Crusaders and PPolice-type groups, so long as they don’t veer into harassment of other users. But whenever anti-NSFW jihadists go “over the top” (and all too often, that does happen), we will step up and defend their targets from abuse. Remember that harassment of other users is also against TOS.

Our own charity initiatives include reminding others to be respectful, as well as promoting free speech, stream mod rights, and teaching proper identification of what is porn (and what isn’t).
