During my time as a furry, I've seen a LOT of cringe furries, which is one of the bigger reasons why many furries don't like to associate with the fandom, but believe it or not I've seen by ratio more cringe anti-furries than cringe furries.
I'll admit when I first became one I acted cringe as well but it was because I adopted the mentality of a group because I didn't have much of a life and I wanted to belong. It's like any sort of social media. I stopped being myself and stopped enjoying it, and I lost a lot of their respect as well when I decided to stick up for myself and live my own life.
Unfortunately while I can't stand the whole "oppression olympics" and do tend to label false victimhood as well as immense amounts of hate from the furry community, I also notice to this day a growing amount of unwarranted hatred of them just because it's cool (without any real reason), which is then used as fodder for them to continue trying to be more cringe because it makes them want to "express" themselves more.
You don't have to be pro or anti furry. The silent majority of us are in the middle and don't like the behavior coming from either side. If you're worried about your friends, bring it up to them. I'll even be willing to talk to them if you want. Just don't go around acting like a d-bag like you do with this post. Not only is it uncalled for, but it's messed up.
