I was just thinking about the chances of evolution happening and typed it up. I'm sure someone before has thought of it before.
I just thought of a counter-argument and then just thought of a counter counter-argument, hold on:
One might say that the chances of evolution occuring are much higher than I think, but that's not true. Several evolution experiments have been going, and they've only had a few adaptations. Take, for example, the E-Coli Long-Term Evolution Experiment. The bacteria have become slightly more efficent at taking in nutrients, and have adapted the ability to consume citrates. That's it, with 12 generations every single day since 1988, counting Christmas off.
