"Shylock" as a term for jewish people is a racist slur. Again, check your Bible: the term Christian as a sect distinct from Judaism came up after the death of Christ. It was only in the time of St. Paul that people could be Christians without converting to Judaism first. (The Epistle to the Galatians records his work preaching among non-jews, and how controversial it was at the time.)
