It's because we're taught to from an early age. Modern society (media) dictates that we're not able to or supposed to have feelings or be able to suffer or be hurt or sad. That's why we never get compliments, gratitude, gifts, or even someone willing to listen whenever we have a tough day and desperately need to cry it out. We're told to suck it up and deal (suffer) with it.
Not saying we're not allowed to be strong whenever we need to be there for someone, but sometimes (oftentimes) we'll need someone there for us, and aren't allowed to have it. That's why we sometimes have a childish mentality and tend to seek the company of our fellow bros so much, because that's our escape.
