Lack of problems that lead to one random one becoming a major issue, combined with all the friendship and discrimination education in schools, plus the dawn of social media making people lonely and finding tribes to belong to, then more focus on freedom about individualization (allowing people to be whatever they want and however they want). When you put more value and self-worth on how special you are, you get people who have to be more unique, not feeling special or valued enough, and then try to find another tribe only for the cycle to start again.
