Splat theory: It's one of the fuzzy octolings that somehow become un-fuzzy (somehow) and has no memory or knows what the square looks like since the fuzzy ink was stored in their goggles which might cause blindness which is why their so bad at shooting in story mode (except the ones in after alterna)
