A pokemon based on a slime mold could be really cool. Slime molds are surprisingly intelligent as well as very efficient for a literal blob. In fact, there was an experiment done where a slime mold was to map out I believe the tokyo subway. It did so and made the tunnels even more efficient.
as for ideas for the design and pokemon itself, perhaps a grass psychic type that uses its psychic abilities to find the most efficient method of doing things. Perhaps the pokemon itself could be in the shape of a brain. the veiny form of slime molds could fit the wrinkles of the brain quite well, and it also serves as a very direct showing of the pokemon's intellect.
For names, ideas I came up with include: Gellect, Mialp, Slimind, Premoln
