The Democrats’ reconciliation bill passed last summer, however, raided nearly $300 billion from Medicare to boost insurance companies by removing leverage from negotiations on drug prices.

Where does this appear as a line item in the budget? I looked and it was not there. The laws on negotiating drug prices are new and have not produced numbers anywhere in this neighborhood. When I worked for the VA, we saved about 30%, by negotiating drug prices. But we had our own pharmacies, which Medicare does not. The only money Medicare gives to insurance companies is for Affordable Care Act and Part B & C policies. Again, please point me to the specific part of the budget you are talking about. Ia always open to new facts.
