If it's digital, it can be accessed and controlled by someone else, even the government.
It already happened when people started protesting or donating to protestors whom the banks or governments disagreed with. You also entrust your homes and livlihoods, where there's already been incidents of people having their AC shut off when it was hot by a third party to "save energy usage." Your car can be shut off remotely, your bank account can be frozen, you could lose access to goods and services and even home safety.

The only way it could get worse is with a social credit system, which many countries have, like when China made millions starve in Shanghai, or when Canada froze all the accounts and access to food to those who spoke up against Trudeau or supported the truckers.

America is truly the last stand for freedom, otherwise you allow a government tell you who's good, who's bad, what to think, and that you need to suffer, or even die if it's convenient for everyone else.
