Fundamentally, I agree with you, as you just described my past mindset. I used to be very religious and conservative. I'm more moderate and secular now, more into spiritual philosophy than dogmatic religion BUT I have a respect for my past.
I'm not as obsessed with punishment these days. I'm not obsessed so much with punishment, but prevention. I'll swallow my pride and put my pro life principles before my capitalist one, because I wouldn't mind it if some of my tax dollars went to suggestions from Pro Choicers and Feminists that would actually reduce or mitigate abortions.
I would rather my tax dollars go to preventing American babies from being chopped up at home by liberals, than it going to blow up somebody else's kids at the behest of warhawk conservatives. Win win. Besides, the victims of both abortion and a warmongering foreign policy tend to be brown.
Personally, as much as I would like to *see* it outlawed, I think the best way to go is get science on our side and make abortion obsolete. The Feminists can't cry fowl if we simply created alternatives that are so much more practical and accommodating.
If pregnancy centers step their game up,
if pro lifers achieve success through making their pro life stance more feminist,
and abortion centers start closing down simply because people are choosing the alternatives,
then the feminazis and child sacrificing satanists will either have to keep their mouth shut and deal with it.....or admit that they were obsessed with abortion for dark and sinister reasons that had *nothing* to do with the welfare of the mother.
