These kids live every minute of their lives according to what's decreed by the Party. Every little decision is in accordance with Party guidelines, especially how they get around town and what they choose to eat. And I imagine any little thing they buy is based on what the Party has said will save the planet, from coffee to toothpaste to shampoo.

It's simply amazing how thoroughly people can be programmed!

Just saying not all of them are, but most. There's Hillsdale, which is both an awesome town and college, but the exceptions are rare.
