3 easy ways to save the environment:
1: Stop using plastic fishing nets. They make up over 50% of ocean plastic and virtually all of it comes from China. Sustainable fisheries are one option, but eliminating disposable nets is necessary.
2: Stop consuming soy-based products. Soy is in a lot of our foods and goods these days, in large amounts, and people think that since it's a vegetarian option that it's safer than meat. To transport soybeans from China, who supplies the majority of the world's soybeans, you're talking about loading up freight ships which can release more CO2 into the atmosphere than farms because they require unfathomable amounts of fuel to move, without considering they have to move halfway around the world!
3: Stop eating chocolate. Look into how much water it takes to grow cocoa and make chocolate. It takes over 3,000 liters of water to produce a single chocolate bar. Just over 40 to make beer. Meanwhile chocolate is grown in tropical climates, and much of the water used could be provided to third-world citizens. Carob is a better option, as it requires much less water, is grown in pods, is a sustainable crop and can grow in more places a lot easier.
