Maybe whoever coined the name saw a Granny-Smith apple?
Maybe they wanted to make sure nothing rhymed with orange if something already rhymed with apple, and if that's the case, I invented three new words:
Boringe (bor-inj): (noun) Whenever you attempt to obtain an adequate amount of something and unintentionally or inconveniently obtain less-than an adequate amount.
Ex: "I went to grab a paper towel and got a boringe because my hands were all wet!"
Goringe (gor-inj): (noun) Whenever you attempt to obtain an adequate amount of something and unintentionally or inconveniently obtain more-than an adequate amount.
Ex: "I went to grab a paper towel and got a goringe and pulled the whole roll onto the floor!"
Bilver (bil-vur): (verb) whenever an object adheres to itself, rendering it inseperable or unusable.
Ex: "I was tearing off a piece of tape and it bilvered on itself! Now I gotta run to Walmart cuz I'm out of tape!"
