That's because the U.S. was founded as a plutocratic ethnostate, not a democratic republic.

At first that sounds like anti-American propaganda. However, Given some thought, it’s pretty hard to deny. For several reasons.

Plutocratic because only landowners (i.e. rich people) could vote
Ethnostate because nearly 100% (if not 100%) of the people in charge were white

Technically true, figuratively accurate. Are we chipping away at that?

I am greatful for my life and all of the opportunities I’ve been given. And even more greatful for the opportunities I’ve made for myself. Perfection is the process, not the outcome. I pray that what this all leads to is something better for everyone eventually. Perhaps we wouldn’t even be able to enjoy our life the way it is now if it wasn’t for the system we seem to want to rebel against.

Or something

There are more important things than personal opportunities and enjoyment of life.
