I guess this is their way of saying Freedom Caucus wins again because they’ve suddenly gone silent on McCarthy being re-elected being the worst thing that’s happened recently.

Republicans continue to back and protect big pharma corporations while Democrats do the same for big media social corporations. You’re a fool if you think either is fighting for you.

So, the example of "republicans" backing big pharma is on display in this meme. What do you mean by "Democrats" "doing the same for big media social corporations."...? Because I'm not sure what you're talking about exactly.

People being able to afford life-saving medicine far outweighs anything a social media company can do for someone.

Oh I most certainly agree affording life-saving medicine is far more important but very few of my contemporaries will admit such.

They still think Republicans are protecting them from Big Pharma. They aren’t. They just say they do and then turn around and do precisely this! And then, go cry about Joe Biden didn’t salute a marine for weeks rather than be angry at their precious football team political party.

As for social media being in Democrats pockets…

Forgive the Post source, but the meat of it is social media is going to spend more favorably to Democrats. And while Democrats are not obligated to return the favor… it would be ignorant to believe they will not.

Big pharma, after all, is certainly keeping Republicans in their pocket. Be it Freedom Caucus or Establishment Republicans. And their voters either do not really care or are extremely ignorant of it.

I see, you're describing lobbying. So what we need to do instead is get rid of lobbying. Stop pointing the finger, ye?

Getting rid of lobbying not only wouldn’t fix the problem but cause more problems.

Stop pointing the finger would be a good start.

What would be better is believing a candidate is only as good as the party they belong to.

In fact, believing an politician is worth donating to or is exempt of criticism is a pretty dumb mindset.

I wouldn't say dumb, but I would say misguided. However, I've never donated to anyone.

Why do you think abolishing lobbying would be a bad idea?

Too many special interest groups are essentially buying the loyalty from too many politicians, big pharma, NRA, Soc. Media, etc. etc. You should be voting on how your voters ask you to, not by what contributions you receive. Because otherwise, it's a government run by a corporatocracy by proxy, but really run in an oligarchy. Only the wealthy and most influential swing the decision making of the politicians. Most notably, with Donald Trump.

The man should be politically dead by now if this was 2012. Yet, he has the most scandals out of any president and is implicated in the most crimes of any president in history. Yet, somehow.... he endures.

Lobbying was not supposed to serve corporations but special interest groups. Individuals United for some social or political reason to back a candidate. Today most lobbies are front runners to essentially legal corporate bribes. That is not how they’re suppose to operate and while that is kind of illegal there are legally acceptable ways to bypass such scrutiny. But the government won’t fix this issue, nor curtail it. They certainly won’t ban it due to self-interest.

I don't think there's a way that you can separate corporations from special interest groups without permitting plausible deniability. Someone just has to get a mish mash of people saying they represent "X" and want you to vote in their favor. By the way, have some money as a donation.

Special Interest "Y" comes along and wants to donate against "X" now your vote is for sale.

Hence why I said:

Getting rid of lobbying not only wouldn’t fix the problem but cause more problems.

But I think you now understand where I’m coming from.

It doesn’t mean I have to like it. Nor would I purpose going completely against it.

The solve here is easy - they can't accept money from any special interest group, or gifts or anything else of the like who isn't in their immediate familial sphere.
