Personally, I am opposed to these big deficits. I'm old enough to remember R.W. Reagan promising us that his tax cuts would not result in deficits, because putting money in the pockets of the rich would cause them to invest more in the economy. That additional commerce was supposed to create more enterprise. The taxes from this economic activity were supposed to replace the taxes cut in the first place. Thirty-Trillion Dollars later, the GOP has decided that Reagan's plan won't work. We are stuck with a mess that we can't fix in Bankruptcy Court.
