you don't count things as a war... because the one side surrendered before facing complete annihilation?
I guess the Japanese were never in World war II, and the war of 1812 doesn't actually exist. The Revolutionary war never happened either, as the British Empire continued to survive and thrive. Same with two out of the three Punic wars while we're at it.
It's logic that seems like it fails when put into really any other situation, and I'm legitimately curious how you got to this conclusion.
