I don't even know what series this is, but part of me wants to say anime or manga, but maybe that's because the only anime I watched was Avatar the last Airbender and that one girls Sokka had an interest in turned into the moon

its a book about dragons so the bikini part will make no sense except for the fact that half of the book is set on the beach.

Yeah I you made me guess what the protagonist's species would be after telling be they went to see the moon in a bikini, I would not have guessed dragon.
