Nobody deserves to go to Heaven: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) That's the reason for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which describes His mercy, grace, and shows the way to the Father and Salvation. When Jesus died on the cross, He died to pay the penalty for all of the sins of the entire world (1 John 2:2). When a person places their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, all of their sins are forgiven.
Nobody can "earn" Heaven either. It is a free gift from God for those who believe and trust in Christ. It's more than just being a good person; it's recognizing that our own righteousness is insufficient, and that Christ's righteousness is what reconciles us to the Father. It would be an abuse of God to send His only Son to die, if we could be "morally" good enough to save ourselves. Think about it!
"For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, 'Cursed be everyone who does not abide by ALL things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.'
Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for 'The righteous shall live by faith.'
But the law is not of faith, rather 'The one who does them shall live by them.'
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written,
'Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree'"
- Galatians 3:10-13
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."
- John 3:16, 17
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
- Ephesians 2:8, 9
"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Jesus Christ, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
- Romans 8:1
"Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to Himself."
- Acts 2:38, 39
Jesus said, "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
- John 14:5, 6
