Simple solution...use the IRS agents we have to watch everyone making $1,000,000+ and not the rest of us.

A dem rep complained they had more people working for the IRS in 1953... what she forgot to tell you is they didn't have computers back then...

Another dem rep said the 80 BILLION was supposed to be used to replace retiring agents... so they didn't replace retiring agents before? Very strange...

They also said audits for lower and middle-income families would not increase.... which was another blatant lie...

The only thing dems said that rang true was their plan was to insure everyone paid their fair share... which means they admitted they lied about not going after lower and middle-income families...

I mean, it shouldnt be so hard to do some research -- https://www.cbo.gov/system/files/2022-08/58390-IRS.pdf

The CBO said it raised 180B in revenue from people NOT paying taxes or fraudulently paying taxes.
...and their description is clear about where the revenue is coming from: "CBO projects that some of the increased revenues will be collected from taxpayers with income less than $400,000; the amount will be a small fraction of the total increase."

It clearly articulates the jobs are for replacing retiring agents and updating systems...

The IRS has been starved and underfunded for years. They have a huge wave of retirements coming they need to replace to even get to level, but reality is they need way more to be effective. You ever tried to call and get information from them? They need the resource. They need the man power...

Yes... CBO estimates 700,000 more audits of poor and middle-income families... thanks...

“The independent Congressional Budget Office soundly debunks the White House claim that there are ‘no new IRS agents’ and ‘no additional audits.’ CBO confirms that lower and middle income taxpayers will see more audits, which we find could be as many as 710,000 more. This is common sense: Thousands of new IRS agents means thousands more audits.”
