the entire reason that parental control apps exist is because more than one person uses them. I used to have parental controls on my phone, but now I don't cuz I bought my own phone and therefore my parents don't have control over it. I'm 15 and I had parental controls 8 months ago

how tf did u save up enough money to buy your own phone at 15, maybe even 14. also youre lucky bc even if i bought my own phone my parents would either make me return it cuz they cant manage it or take it away or find some way to get ahold of it to restrict it. they also restrict my pc which im using rn to write this, and pretty much all my other devices are. its annoying asf

I have a job that pays me double digit wages per hour. I had enough money for a OnePlus Nord100 5G, as well as my own phone line. My parents aren't as restrictive as yours, but they basically are with my siblings. They also let me freely use my Xbox because I also bought it myself along with more than 20 games over time. My parents are civilized enough to let me have agency over my own hard earned assets. But trust me the parental controls are put in place for a good reason. I found out what exactly it protects you from the hard way. Ask your parents to explain their reasoning sometimes, and it'll become more clear as to why they do what they do.

the parental controls my parents use for my pc are shitty, it blocks random websites that i know isnt adult content or viruses or anything. what job do u have? if thats too personal then can u answer what kind of job it is? u dont have to answer either of those, its just im approaching the age that i can technically get a job that pays so thats why im asking. not that id be able to spend the money on what i want though lmao.

I work at McD's lol. It's a good starter job since you don't need experience to get hired. Also yeah, makes sense that the parental controls are crap, they usually do more than what you want. I had that before. The one on my phone blocked a whole bunch of games because of the fact that it was possible to communicate with other players, violence, etc. And I already play games that do that on my Xbox, so I never saw why it was different for my phone. I couldn't have any social media either, including imgflip and YouTube.

Im pretty sure you have to be 16 in my state to work there so I’m out of luck ig. My parents take violence and blood seriously so I can only watch pg13 movies and play teen rated games except for cod. They also have some dumb stuff about swearing like once I was playing Fortnite when it was popular and theres voice chat and theres this one dude who’s speaking Spanish (a language I don’t fully understand) and they straight up say “if u hear him swearing either turn off voice chat or leave” and I’m like bruh how tf am I supposed to know and they say “if it sounds like it” and I’m speechless but I’m thinking huh? Any word could be a swear that’s dumb. And they don’t know it but I love watching videos with swears especially zoom bombing vids cuz they’re funny. Anyway I’m not allowed to have most social media and my parents don’t know I have imgflip. I have Facebook and yt but those are both restricted ofc.

Alright, it's been a while since I have needed to share this but here we go

The way parental apps work is once it's installed it acts like an app, except to leave the app you have to put a code and the app instantly turns on your phone,
SO HERE'S WHAT YOU GOTTA DO
You must turn your phone off COMPLETLY, once you turn it back on the app has to reconnect,
After your phone is on you have an opening, leaving you to be able to get out of the app for a very quick moment. Now you have to instantly delete the app (by holding it, if you don't know), this may take a couple tries but I have made it work. After the app is deleted, you have broken out of your chains

After you turn 18, you get legal privacy rights. What they’re doing is technically considered illegal spying. You could sue them if you want.
