Just a few character concepts I thought of while listening to music, story in comments

The first one (blue/gold) was a participant in a government experiment to create more powerful soldiers, basically turning people into living weapons using a newly created technology, nanotech

He was injected with the nanotech, and it immediately began reconstructing his body, basically turning him into a robot

He soon began to learn that with enough concentration he could morph parts of his body into weapons and tools, eventually becoming proficient at it being able to create most weapons without much effort

The second one (green, I feel like doing red last) was an army commander who wanted to gain extreme strength, he was told that even one test subject could theoretically be a one man army, as soon as he heard that he couldn't resist

He was injected with the nanotech, and once again was being reconstructed into a robot

The way he learned how to control it was different, instead of just creating SOMETHING like the first test subject, he immediately began to try morphing his arms into guns, and increasing his strength... This brute force method didn't work for a long time.

The third (red, of course) probably wasn't the best choice for this experiment, he was extremely violent and had killed several people. He had joined the experiment because he was interested in it's destructive capabilities

He was injected... But wasn't as lucky as the previous two participants... His body began to morph into... An almost demonic form... Screeches of pain could be heard throughout the facility... A short range E.M.P. was set off to neutralize him while researchers figured out what happened to him, and if they could fix it

Over time blue began to figure out what they were trying to do... He saw scientists installing some sort of chip on green, he was struggling to escape before it could be installed but was too late... He got up from the table lifelessly, blue knew he needed to escape

With his skill using his weaponry he quickly burst through the door keeping him contained, but there were guards ready with E.M.P. weapons and they quickly apprehended him

He woke up on the same table where green was before, face to face with the same device

But he wouldn't be chipped so easily, he formed a second set of arms with strong claws on the ends, and he snapped the chip in two, he then began to break his restraints one by one, more guards burst in but he used an electric beam to fry the guns.

Then flying through the facility at full speed, he escaped, but wasn't out of trouble yet, as he was flying away an entire fleet of fighter jets were sent after him

Right as they were about to reach him, he stopped, letting the jets fly past giving him an advantage

He formed two laser cannons on his arms and fired, both jets fell out of the sky. The rest began pursuit but each fell just as easily

As they had all hit the ground he watched as the land around the facility burned, making sure everyone watching the battle could see the destruction he caused, showing everyone in the facility that he wouldn't be captured so easily

Then he flew off, he wouldn't be seen for months

In his time missing, blue found that certain forms of energy could alter his form, he kept several energy cells with him in case of emergency

Then one day, they found him

Green leaped down from a tall building right in front of blue, he was unfazed, green still moved lifelessly just like in the lab

He was sent to destroy blue, to get rid of any evidence of the horrible experiment done months prior

However no matter what was done to green, he wasn't as agile as blue, he hadn't taken the time to learn how to control the nanotech, therefore he couldn't create anything to aid him in battle, brute force wouldn't work this time

Blue formed a chain and wrapped it around green, then he carefully removed the chip from his chest... He soon came to his senses, but this wouldn't be the last time they sent someone after him

A few weeks passed and green had left to learn on his own, he was stubborn, not listening to any advice about how to control his nanotech

Soon there were reports about some sort of
"metal demon" destroying property and killing many civilians blue instantly knew it was the third test subject, red

Blue went to the place of the most recent report, and had found red... But unexpectedly, he wasn't being controlled by a chip, there were scratches of his chest suggesting that there was a chip at one point, but it was torn off

But even then red wasn't acting... Human... He would climb and crawl like some sort of animal, whatever went wrong during his experiment, he wasn't coming back from

As soon as he noticed blue he lunged forward, knocking blue to the ground, he managed to get red off by firing a beam from his chest, but that wouldn't be enough to take him down, red morphed his head to have a large jaw with many rows of teeth, a menacing red glow came from where his throat would be

Blue morphed his left arm into a cannon and shield, and his right arm into a sword, making sure his energy capsules were ready, red lunged forward again, blue blocked it with his shield, then he stabbed into reds shoulder with his sword, he screeched in pain, he jumped back, quickly repairing the wound, it would seem blue wasn't the only one skilled with his nanotech

The battle went on, red would occasionally get a few good hits and so would blue but eventually red managed to knock blue to the ground again, making him drop the energy capsule, he knew that would be the only way to defeat him

Red grabbed blue by the legs and began to pull him into his jaws, it would seem he's more savage than blue first expected

Blue grappled onto a nearby wall as he reached for the capsule, as red got closer and closer, but blue wasn't giving up, he began rerouting power to his arms to hopefully pull away from red and grab the capsule, and right as red began to chomp down...

A flash of golden light engulfed the area, as the light faded and blue was flying above red, now in a golden form, large glowing wings came from his back

Red jumped up to reach him, but gold (blue) grabbed him out of the air, he threw him through several walls before he eventually stopped, but the beast wouldn't give up, it ran back through all the holes it was sent through, as it was running it made it's claws sharper, it's legs formed into springs and it jumped up to gold again, this time managing to get a hold of him

But gold wasn't going to give up that easily, he grabbed red and held him above his head as he flew through several buildings, using red as a human shield, if you could even call him human anymore

Red was heavily damaged, but he still kept swinging his claws at gold, he was getting tired of this, soon the energy from the capsule would run out and he'd be forced to run away, but he likely couldn't escape this beast

Gold threw red into the ground, he sent several chains down to hold him in place, then he put both of his arms together, and formed them into a powerful energy cannon, he fired and the area was once again engulfed in golden light, once it faded there was a crater where red once was, and blue was once again in his regular form

Blue simply sat and wondered what other horrible things they created in the time he was missing, and if they were about to be sent after him like green was, but these questions likely wouldn't be answered

Yh i dont have even though im an artist. I feel its illegal in today's time to not have a character

It's ok if you don't have a character
