“Retention of classified documents” isn’t the issue. Obstruction was the issue with Trump. He had the (large number of) documents in his personal possession and refused to return them after multiple subpoenas.
Lawyers found the relatively few documents in their office in Bidens case and handed them over willingly and swiftly.
If Biden had boxes of classified documents in his personal home and refused to hand them over then it would be similar circumstances.
