The demon didn't respond and merely kept looking at them with a frown.

Selina: princess, we’re being watched
Melody: we are?
Selina: the tree
Melody: ah! Hello! Come down, I do not wish to hurt you

The demon didn't say anything, it merely sat down on the tree branch and kept watching them, it was quite hard to tell if he was harmless.

Melody: Sir?
Selina: Hey A$$ho-
Melody: Selina! Say that again and I won’t hesitate to place the muzzle back on you! *Selina scowls. Melody looks back up* Demon-Sama? Would you prefer us come to you?

His expression soon changed to a soft one and jumped down. He seemed more harmless and bowed his head a bit "Hello." his voice was deep and husky, but very calming.

*Melody smiles and bows politely to him. She’s oddly tiny, looking around maybe, 8-ish? The girl behind simply glares, pupils shaped like a goat’s, one flat line*

The demon simply nodded at her and looked at the other girl, frowning and his pupils dilated thinly.

Melody: oh! I keep forgetting that demons don’t trust each other. Apologies!

He stayed quiet for a moment and glared at the other girl for a moment. He crossed his arms and his pupils were back to normal "...It's alright.." he mumbled.

Melody: what are you called, Demon-sama?

He looked back at her "Haruko." he said calmly "That's the name my...'friend' gave me-?" he said, looking oddly confused at the meaning.

Melody: Haruko! Pleasure to meet you! I’m Melody, and this is Selina! I spared her life before she ate any humans in exchange for her assistance

He nodded gently "Nice to meet you... My friend spared me, even though I have...eaten people..." he mumbled and looked away, frowning.

Melody: hm, by choice? Or forced?

"...Choice.." he said quietly, not entirely trusting himself and backed away a bit.

Melody: ah, I see *brushes the hilt of her Nichirin sword* are you aware of what I must do?

He looked at her sword "He won't let you." he said simply, suddenly there was a different aura amongst them, a calm but serious one.

Melody: I simply asked a question, I mean not to harm you

Haruko then glanced toward a nearby tree, simply nodding his head. The aura soon left, but it wasn't completely gone "I would be beheaded." he said and looked back at her

Melody: that is correct. And do you know what I mean to do?

"Behead me." he crossed his arms, looking at her and his pupils dilated just a smidge, not much.

Melody: that is incorrect *lifts her hand* I mean to offer you a deal

He raised a brow and his pupils went back to normal "..A deal?" he asked, seeming very confused.

Melody: you stop eating humans and travel with me, and I’ll supply you with blood

He pointed to his eyes "I did stop eating humans. I was a lowermoon. 'He' made me stop or else he'd drag me outside in the daytime." he said, his face lighting up a bit when he said 'he'.

Melody: This ‘he’ is Muzan Kibutsugi?

He then frowned "No. Somebody else.." he said quietly and looked away, seemingly smiling a bit.

Selina: ….gay

He then glared at her "No." he mumbled. The aura was back and it was by a nearby tree, though he wasn't visible "With him? No thanks." the voice said, his was quiet and more calmer than Haruko's.

Selina: 0-0 whoops
Melody: oh! Well! May I extend the offer to the both of you?

The figure then jumped down and he was now visible (imgflip.com/i/76misb) "I don't eat humans, thank you." he said coldly. Haruko's face lit up and he ran quickly toward the man, hugging him tightly. The man sighed and patted his head "Haruko." he mumbled

Selina: holy sh1t *nose bleed cause he’s hot af*
Melody: ah! Wonderful!

"Gao!!" Haruko said happily, the man named Gao, frowned and sighed "You're too clingy.." he mumbled, Haruko not really caring. Gao then looked at the two of them "That demon's nose is bleeding." he said blankly.

Melody: *looks* Selina?
Selina: what? Oh, I’m fine! Haha

Gao sighed and he pulled out a napkin from his haori "Here." he mumbled, handing it to her whilst Haruko kept holding on to him happily.

Selina: thanks *starts dealing with the bloody nose*
Melody: you are called Gao?

"Yes, that is my name," he said, frowning at Haruko who was clearly fangirling over him in silent.

*Selina tries not to snicker*

"Haruko, off-" he mumbled, Haruko frowning "Fine!" he let go of him and crossed his arms "You're too damn clingy..." Gao sighed, Haruko grinning innocently "He hasn't harmed any of you two, yes?" Gao asked and raised a brow

Melody: nope! He’s been well behaved *giggles*
Selina: I meaaaaaan, he stalked us, sooooo

Gao nodded and patted Haruko's head gently "Good job..." he mumbled, Haruko's face lighting up a bit, and smiled proudly at himself. "As for the stalking part, he does that a lot. He is to protect humans. He probably wanted to make sure you were safe, considering you are wandering with a demon." Gao said blankly.

Melody: aw, why thank you!
Selina: psh…ok, fair

Gao nodded "He isn't seen as a problem in the corps. If he ever hurts a human or attempts to, we have to make him stay outside in the daylight." he mumbled, Haruko frowning "I almost died a few times from that-" he mumbled and scoffed

"The corps are so harsh." Haruko muttered "You're the past Lowermoon 1. Be grateful you're even living." Gao scoffed, Haruko nodding a bit.

*Melody looks at the both of them in a mix of horror and amusement*
Melody: I don’t quite understand something Gao-sama. Are you demon or human? Or something else

Gao looked at her "I'm a human. A Demon Slayer." he said blankly, patting Harukos' head gently.

Melody: I see! Apologies, but I’m still new to the concept of Demons VS Humans VS Hybrids, such as Selina
Selina: shush! Princess!

He nodded "I am...new to this as well...I do my job every time. This one I just so happened to spare..." he looked away, embarrassed. Haruko grinned and hugged him again, Gao scoffing

Selina: sh1t ton gay *slapped on the wrist by Melody* sheesh, sorry
Melody: I spared Selina because she hadn’t committed murder yet. The corps wasn’t happy at all about it

Gao sighed "They were more upset about that fact I spared Lowermoon 1. Yes, he had eaten multiple people...But there was...good in him.." he mumbled, looking away from Haruko's happy face.

Selina: G-
Melody: Don’t even finish that sentence

"We're mere friends-" Gao mumbled, Haruko rolling his eyes "Uh-huh, and I'm human." he raised a brow and Gao frowned.

Selina: I KNEW IT!
Melody: Selina-
Selina: I didn’t say anything!

Gao blinked a few times in confusion, whilst Haruko sighed "Nah. Not yet!" he said with a happy grin, Gao raising a brow, very confused.

Selina: ah, gotcha

Haruko looked at the very confused Gao "She thinks we're together." he said simply, Gao frowning "No." he crossed his arms and looked away, Haruko grinning.

Selina: -v- sureeeeeee

"What's so bad about dating a de-" Gao then smacked his head "Ow!" he said, Gao frowning "Stop talking." he scoffed.

Selina: ……
Melody: No smarta$$ comments?
Selina: well you’re going to smack the shit outta me if I do
Melody: *giggles* good! *Turns back to the men(male identifying?)* May we accompany you for a while?

(They do, yes!)
Gao shrugged "I don't mind, sure." he mumbled, Haruko randomly playing with Gao's braid.

Selina POV: He's like an overly energetic puppy
Melody: Where is your next assignment?

"I am to go to the Entertainment District?" Gao mumbled and Haruko glanced up at him "Oh! Your home! Along with Miss Hisami and Mister Uro!" Haruko said and Gao nodded

Melody: What a coincidence! I am venturing there as well! unfortunately....we, don't really know where we're going...?

Gao sighed "You're free to follow us.." he mumbled and looked at Haruko "And you cannot be seen." he said and Haruko nodded. There was a black mist surrounding Haruko, and he had turned into a snake, wrapping himself around Gao's neck and staying there happily.

Selina: *picking up Melody* Clingy demon you've got there

He sighed "He's always been super clingy. Since I managed to convince the Corps he wouldn't do anything, he's always been grateful.." he mumbled and patted the snake's head gently

Selina: well, at least you trust him *Places Melody on her back* I would've thought he was trying to strangle me being around my neck like that, you know? not trying to plant any ideas, so sorry if I did

He shook his head "No, Haruko is too much of a damn simp to strangle me." he rolled his eyes, Haruko looking around and not really listening.

Selina: *laughs* Ready Princess shorty?
Melody: *blinks* did you just flirt with me?
Selina: *indignantly* Well I have been for the last two years but thanks for noticing!

He sighed "Haruko's been doing it for 5 years now-" he mumbled, Haruko finally listening in and nodded happily

Selina: 0v0 daaaaaaaamn....you are really adamate on not dating a demon, aren't ya?
Melody: Selina, don't pry
Selina: I'm not prying!

He stayed silent "...I'm not ready to be in a relationship with anyone." he said and he had a more serious expression, the snake staying silent.

Selina: ;-;
Melody: that is perfectly ok! Now, in which direction do we go

Gao looked at Haruko, who simply hissed at him "We keep going North.." he mumbled, Haruko nodding.

*Selina takes off running, Melody clutching onto her back. Now it made sense what Melody meant by “Selina’s services”. Mobility, speed, strength, stamina, agility, Selina had it all, and Melody seemingly had none*

Gao blinked a few times "Huh." he shrugged and Haruko's eyes glowed a bit. Gao nodded and he jumped up a tree branch, then started jumping from tree to tree, moving really fast. Haruko's abilities were helping Gao increase his speed.

(Now that I think abt it, Gao and Haruko are the super advanced versions of Melody and Selina lol)
Selina: *seeing Gao and Haruko's speed* hell yeah

(Pfffft, that is very true, yes!)
Gao nodded and Haruko hissed, increasing Gao's speed. Every time Haruko would hiss, Gao's speed increased.

Selina: sh1tballs! tf?!
Melody: my my, they are fast! You have permission to speed up
Selina: hell yeah *Speeds up, nowhere near as fast as the other two, but fast enough to talk to them* Hey! Don't you EVER get tired?!

Gao shook his head "I don't, Haruko gets tired after a certain point so I stop after a while!" he said, Haruko nodding and hissed again, increasing Gao's speed

Selina: Well, seeing as you, the human, are using the demon's speed, I can see that! And I respect that

He nodded gently "Need a break yet, Haruko?" he mumbled, Haruko shaking his head "Alright, keep this speed for now." Gao said quietly and Haruko nodded.

Selina: *to Melody* they are in total denial
Melody: I want to agree, but we shouldn't be gossiping

Gao didn't hear but Haruko did, hissing a bit but it didn't increase Gao's speed.

Melody: 0-0 We've been caught
Selina: -_- whatever

Haruko then nudged its head onto Gao's arm, signaling Gao to stop. Gao nodded and he did stop, jumping down from the trees and Haruko shifted back to a demon, clearly tired

*Selina skids to a stop, gently placing Melody down. Melody reaches into her bag and pulls out a small vial. she goes up to Gao*
Melody: May I give him this? to replenish his strength? *It is filled with human bl00d*

Gao looked at Haruko, who was looking at the blood intensely. Gao nodded "Yes, you may." he said quietly.

Melody: Here! This is some Human Blood, *looks at the label* Marrechi, I think

Gao looked at Haruko "My blood is Marechi." he mumbled "Thank you for the blood." Gao said quietly

Melody: of course! *She gives an identical vial to Selina*

Gao slowly opened the vial for Haruko, Haruko stared at it but was very patient. Gao looked at him and handed him the vial, Haruko instantly taking it and drank the blood.

*Melody seemed to be testing Selina's control, clearly not having as much trust in her demonic friend as Gao has in Haruko. Selina's hands twitched as she watched the vial*
Melody: 5...4...3...2...1...here you go

Haruko emptied the vial completely. He grinned and nodded "I'm good now!" he said happily, Gao patting his head gently

Melody: everyone ready? Good!
Selina: yes! Let’s do this!

"Alright, come on." Gao mumbled and Haruko shifted back to the snake, wrapping itself around Gao's neck and hissed, Gao jumping up toward the trees and started running fast.
