The FDA allows up to 2% filth content, so long as it's "incidental" and not like radioactive or something. If a company really wanted to g̶o̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶b̶u̶s̶i̶n̶e̶s̶s̶ be progressive, they could itemize recognized filth under the "contains 2% or less of" part of the ingredient panel. Or at least declare "may contain traces of rat feces, fly carcasses, human urine and a glove someone dropped into one of the processing vats". In some cases the "filth" may be the most nutritious part off the food!
