At the beginning of the universe it was extremely hot, hotter than what is possible today. There was a war between matter and antimatter in which they destroyed each other. Matter won by just a little bit. Quarks started existing as well as bosons and they combined with gluons to create protons and neutrons. Once it cooled down enough the protons and neutrons joined together to create nucleuses. It was still too hot for electrons so they could not create atoms until 380,000 years later. Once they joined together, it created hydrogen and helium. Over millions of years, they condensed into gen lll stars. Some were so large that black holes could from inside of them. Once the stars either went supernova or got consumed by their black hole, most new elements were created and the next generation would have metals in them. While this was all happening, the first galaxies formed. Around 10 billion years ago, the Milky Way formed with the black hole sgrA* at the center. It merged with many other smaller galaxies. 4.5 billion years ago the solar system formed and around 3 billion years ago life started. Over the next 3 billion years, the sun will grow up to 10% brighter. 7 billion later it will leave main sequence and begin red giant phase and the Milkdromeda galaxy will from. The sun will destroy Mercury and Venus and a 50% chance of destroying Earth. then the sun will go supernova. (Not much happens for a very long time so I will skip) 500 trillion years from then the last stars will burn out leaving only dust and black holes. Over time, the dust would be consumed by the black holes. At some point, proton decay should start. And around 1*10^50 years from now the first black holes will evaporate due to Hawking radiation. And around 1*10^108 years from now the last black hole will evaporate leaving nothing left in the universe. Because time is relative and you need thing to measure time with, time will be nonexistent because there would be nothing to measure it with. So, in theory, the universe should end. (Heat death)
