Bugs and insects are wonderful creatures that do incredible things for the planet and ecosystem. If they never existed, humanity most likely wouldnt either.

maggots eat rotten meat, if we didn't have flies we would have to wade through mountains of animal corpses

Theyre also useful in medicine, since they only eat rotten flesh and leave live flesh alone. Therefore you can stop an infection by having maggots eat the rotten flesh around the wound

Corpses can decompose on their own.

And we have doctor's for taking care of wounds

as for the doctor thing, several wars wouldn't have been won if maggots hadn't been used to treat wounds when there were no doctors or it was a time when there was little medical knowledge

If you left a corpse in an indestructible box, it would decompose "on its own" because there would be no organisms to break down the tissues

the entire reason plants and organic matter turns into compost is because small organisms (mostly insects and bugs) break it down

Pretty much every bug has its role in keeping the ecosystem stable and if a single one went extinct, the consequences would be unimaginably catastrophic.
