Let's be realistic here. It would be folly to expect that Trump (Trump! of all people!) could have single-handedly imposed peace upon a region that hasn't known peace since... *checks history*... well, ever?
So I'm left wondering what yardstick MAGA people could possibly be using to assert the claim that Trump achieved "peace in the Middle East."
If we're judging Trump by the dismal yardstick of the *last* President the Republican Party gave us, George W. Bush - who actively tossed several packs of lit matches into the Middle East powder-keg - then yes, Trump comes out ahead of him.
"No new wars." Indeed, although the likely unconstitutional U.S. assassination of Iranian Gen. Soleimani (tantamount to an act of war without a shred of Congressional approval) brought us uncomfortably close to one.
We should also note: Is the Middle East a magically great place under Biden? Was it under Obama? No and no. We should be quite sober at this point about America's ability to effect positive change in this region, regardless of who's President.
But the claim that Trump achieved peace in the Middle East is simply untrue in too many ways to count, though my meme above hits 6 of the lowlights.
