I remember watching an interview of a Holodomor survivor who said her sister was playing outside once and saw a skull on the ground. They were thoroughly desensitized to death by that time, so she just put it on a stick and twirled it around. A neighbor came and asked her what she was playing with, and she said “A skull.” The aforementioned skull showed signs of flesh being boiled off.
Later, that neighbor and her mother went to another neighbor’s house, where they saw a bloody axe. They asked where her children had gone, and she told them they had died and she buried them in a ditch. The location she gave them was dug up, and it had no fresh graves. They visited the neighbor’s house again and found human flesh, boiled and salted. They forced her to put it in a bag and were taking her to the police, but she died halfway to the police station of a heart attack.
Really horrifying stuff.
