Amethyst would look cool, but probably have the same protection as leather armor
Copper would look decent, it would be probably as good as iron armor, but you'd be a walking lightning rod
Redstone armor, I honestly don't know
Emerald armor, I'm still waiting for it

This got me thinking
What would the protection be for amethyst
Since dimond is the tougher mineral on the mohs scale (mohs scale 10) where would amethyst fall in
Amethyst is rated 7 on the mohs scale and would be tougher than iron armour if we are being realistic HOWEVER its cleavage plane would make it easy to break so it would be more equal to iron armour
And with that I have wasted 30 minutes of my life to say it's just purple iron armour

But for redstone armor it’d be leather armor except it can activate stuff and amethyst would be as good as chain armor.

emerald armour would be too op, and incredibly unrealistic. A player could just walk into a village, trade a buncha sticks with fletchers, and become stacked

You'd have to find one first

That's easy

Not necessarily

but its still unfair.

And doesn't make sense

It does

but still

It would be unfair to let players get completely stacked early game if they find a village compared to other players who put in the hard work to mine for iron and diamons

You do realize that some people can go for hours without finding one village?
[deleted]
0 ups, 2y
but that's very rare too. Walk in a random direction in almost any biome and you can find a village pretty quickly.

Emeralds are still extremely rare

In mining, yes.

In villages, no. There are multiple ways to get a ton of emeralds very cheaply. One of them is simply cut down some trees, get a ton of sticks and sell them to a fletcher for a profit. With that method you get a stack of emeralds in 30 minutes

Yeah it’s useful but it imagine if was also used for armor and tools

Well with the nature of redstone dust, it would theoretically just kind of break apart, right?

How about red stone blocks
0 ups, 2y
Well I don't think it would be easy to turn a redstone block into armor, since it can't form ingots like other materials
0 ups, 2y,

what would make them so special compared to other armor sets?
0 ups, 2y,
1 reply
Because they have a few uses and copper and amethyst is pretty useless most of the time
0 ups, 2y
that doesnt even answer the question that i asked..?
0 ups, 2y
Yeah but you get so much at once so you just have a surplus of redstone
0 ups, 1y
Thanks to trims you can

Maybe not redstone.

But I agree with the others. Amethyst boots and tools could make sound when being used, and copper armor could conduct lighting in storms to make them more interesting

The item you get from mining redstone is redstone DUST. I don’t think you can make armoire from dust

Use an anvil to hammer and compress the dust?

i think smelting makes more sense because compressing dust could result in Redstone block

compress the dust into a bar shape
0 ups, 2y

just craft the dust into an ingot, similar to how nuggets work
