Kinda in the same boat as you, but given that (in the lore at least) the Rail Rifle can one-shot Terminators, I'm sorta inclined to give this to the Tau.

Fair point. I simply don't know what kind of armor a Broodlord has, and therefore whether or not the Rail Rifle would be effective against it. As for daemons of Nurgle- isn't that sort of Nurgle's whole shtick? Worship me and you'll live forever?
