Newgrange is a 5200 year old earth mound in Ireland. In the roof over the entranceway is a hole that allows a shaft of light to fall onto; the triple spiral pattern more than 18 meters (60 feet) away inside the chamber. This happens just once a year, at the Winter Solstice.
