The USA has a little more than 4% of the Earth's population. We have had over 17% of the world's Covid-19 deaths because of resistance to science driven restrictions on our social behavior. Even with about 81% of our population vaccinated and 67% having a second dose, hundreds die every day from the disease. I call it the "Drunk Driving Analogy." Every day in America hundreds of thousands of people drive while using alcohol and. or drugs. Every 51-minutes someone dies in a car accident involving a drunk driver. But 27-deaths a day among millions of drivers goes almost unnoticed. Using the logic of the extreme right-wing, we should get rid of laws banning DUIs. We should stop wasting our efforts trying to prevent drunk driving.
