ecosystems depend on wolves, just as they do the humble Crane Fly, the Corydoras Catfish, and the red Jungle Fowl to name a few.

In certain cases where prey populations become too large, yes, but too many wolves can completely tear down any food web in practically any ecosystem. Too many predators are just as bad if not worse than too many prey.

they'll over hunt the prey and screw everything up. Wolves don't have too many predators so their numbers would increase rapidly, making things increasingly worse.

the thing is, they CAN
too much of anything can, quite frankly. Too much grass can kill trees and native plants, too many trees can block sunlight from saplings, too many bunnies would run through all the native plants, etc.

and how would these things happen? if humans had never come along and ruin everything, stuff would remain super stable, but we just have to do shit our way because we don't give a flying f**k about nature.
