I think kids are smarter than we give them credit for. It seems like tricks don’t work past age 5 unless the kids are kept sheltered from reality. I also think it’s a simple, fairly harmless way to teach a life lesson about actions and consequences. I figured it out when I was five—but didn’t let on. I just played the game because I wanted toys. 😄

I definitely would not tell my kids he exists fr, but if they like the concept of Santa (as a fictional character), I'm cool with it. Heck, I was well into elementary school before I learned people actually believed in him! 🤣🤣😂😂😂

Nope...
1. you are teaching your children pagan practices
2. you are directly lying to your children, breaking you shall not lie commandment
3. think about how you are teaching your child that it's ok for Santa to creep on them.
4. you are giving a fictional person credit for your hard work and love for your children
5. show me in the bible where Santa was something Jesus said we should remember him by. I only recall him saying to remember his ransom sacrifice at death.
6. you are teaching your children that it's ok to not work for things and expect that things will just be given to you if you wish it
7. do you also teach your children about Krampus?
...
I could go on and on but you get the picture.

It took me 20 gxdamned years to forgive this deceit. Magic purchased against future emotional capital is a poor investment. The divideds were years of mistrust and resentment, and the positive childhood experience could have been had in tandem with an explanation of Santa as an idea representative of good-will, kindness and generosity. No lies needed.

To which side, pro or anti Santa?
2 ups, 1y
Anti. Santa is now the focus of Christmas, instead of Christ, which is supposed to be the center of Christmas. They’ve used Santa to turn Christmas into a fun happy clapping “give me what I want” event instead of what it’s supposed to be focused on. Christ. The reason that Christmas exists,
