You're conflating democracy (a system of administering elections) with constitutional republicanism (a system that creates and enforces laws)
Any political movement that exists in a constitutional republic must abide by the standards established by the republic before they can be allowed the protections afforded by democratic elections.
I am merely pointing out the hipocrisy of those that support banning certain political opinions that they deem to be a "threat to democracy". They are the ones conflating the two, not I.
The entire point of democracy
is that all political persuasions
are supposed to be able to
enter the arena on an equal level
to then be decided on by the people. Meaning if you support banning certain political statements or movements, you are anti-democracy.
