The best 3D Sonic game in years is losing to a fudging pay-to-win game focused on anime waifus. I'm dying of cringe.

They also won. It's a 2020 game about f**king gambling and microtransactions. This is the 2022 game awards, not the 2020 ones. I swear, they probably bribed the judges so they could win, and so they could give free crap in-game to players bc they won which is really just to bait players into staying in the game since otherwise they would just leave as soon as they realized what the actual point of the game was. Also, they tried to be nice with Sonic fans which just led to a bunch of shippings of Sonic characters with Genshin characters, and it just turned into a shetshow.

Yeah, they won. A f**king free to play gambling, pay to win cash grab bait and switch game about dumb anime waifus from 2020 won against a game that was being worked on tirelessly for 5 years, that the developers worked their limbs off to make it one of the best Sonic games in years, with tons of fan service, a high budget, amazing story and music, great characters, some of the best boss fights in the series and therefore in gaming as a whole, extreme attention to detail, and something you only pay for once and that is worth every penny. Sonic Frontiers wasn't some soulless cash grab. It was a genuinely good game with heart put into it. I hope Genshin fans learn sometime that their game is just a cash grab with no heart in it.
