Lol fair enough, had to google it.
I guess because the idea of bird like humanoids are a pretty common phenomenon under the surface. From Japanese Tengus to cartoon characters to Avian extraterrestials for-often new age-Ufology, humanoid animals are the bridge between human emotion and what parallels in beasts. Hence, anthro :)
But yeah Beaky was a character I've had ever since I was 10, and he's had multiple designs and redesigns (some experimental) since then. I would say probably the biggest influences would be Kazooie, Batman's Robin(s), and Woodstock from peanuts. He did evolve from or succeed a character based off of a humanized Rodan.
I didn't base him off of Woody Woodpecker, but the way he fights would be like if Woody Woodpecker's attacks were translated into something violent like Tobias from Animorphs. Like imagine an R rated Woody Woodpecker. A slightly more realistic, R rated Woody. That's his fighting style when he's not using weapons. He can't eat cars or bridges but it's like seeing a jack-hammer on human flesh.
