Depends on how far you’re trying to go with your attempt to craft law exemptions for religions.
What if I found a religion that calls for ritual child sacrifice at 12 midnight every Friday. Does the government have to say, “oh, sorry kids, they have religious liberty, can’t do a thing”?
Gay people can’t be discriminated against as a general rule. Nor black people, nor women, etc. If you want to claim an exception to that, you’ll need a compelling argument. How does letting different people into your church actually impact your personal relationship with God?
Just a couple days ago, you claimed that Mormons have a superior claim to “Deseret”: i.e. most of the Western U.S. That’s absurd. There are limits to how many privileges you can claim as a religious person, or group.
The Bible was used to justify slavery. Sounds stupid and disgusting today, but at one time, it was the law of the land. Are we making similar mistakes today?
