The Inflation Reduction Act is the most important climate bill in over three decades: a white whale that those of us interested in bequeathing a livable world to our kids and grandkids and their kids and grandkids have been chasing for awhile. Will it be enough? Who knows, but it's an important start.
Kudos to Manchin for finally (finally) getting it done.
Why Manchin couldn't also get onboard with things like the enormously-popular and effective Child Tax Credit extension, and Paid Family Leave (which virtually every other country in the world has), who knows.
But while these goals remain undone, there's always the next election. If we want them done: elect more Democrats!
